Portland Pupils’ Show They Care

Portland Pupils’ Show They Care

“It is great the young children can engage with the elderly, and it was a brilliant way of bringing various generations together during this difficult time.”

Faye Jones, who runs Primary League Primary Stars for Tranmere Rovers in the Community.

Some of our pupils’ have recently wrote letters to Tranmere Rovers in the Community’s Dementia group. This is part of a social action project with Primary League Primary Stars.

The letters included questions such as what it was like growing up and how the world has changed around them throughout the years.

Pupils’ also showed kindness and care in asking how members of the group were coping with the current lockdown.

Our pupils’ will continue to write letters as they continue to make a positive impact on the lives of others as well as improve their writing skills.

Faye Jones, who runs Primary League Primary Stars for Tranmere Rovers in the Community said: “The children were wonderful and wrote some lovely letters and asked a number of interesting questions. It gave the elderly people the opportunity to reply to the letters and reminisce about their lives and when they grew up.”
