Care in the Sun
Long term weather forecasts are suggesting that we are in for some hot weather over the coming weeks. As such, we would advise that pupils bring in hats and sunglasses for break times. We would also encourage sun cream to be applied before school and also be brought in to be reapplied during the day. Please make sure any creams are labelled with the child’s name.
A big thank you from myself and Mrs Tolcher for the improvement in punctuality at the start of the day. Following a number of letters and meetings there has been a great response, with pupils being more settled as they are not missing the start of lessons.
Congratulations to our football teams who have represented the academy extremely well recently. At the ‘Red Heart’ tournament they even won the cup!
Could I please request that parents, family members and family friends do not approach pupils through the perimeter fence at playtimes and lunch times. In terms of safeguarding all pupils, different staff may not be aware of an individual’s identity and I have instructed all staff to direct children away if approached or called over. Should you need to pass information on during the school day please do it through the school office.
A big well done to all the pupils for their efforts in the recent end of Key Stage tests. All pupils in Year 2 and Year 6 focused extremely well. May I also thank parents and carers for ensuring that all pupils were in on time and well prepared for each of the tests.
Finally, just a reminder that photos and brief reports about events in school are regularly added to the new school website. It has been designed to be ‘phone friendly’ and provides a great opportunity to keep up to date with things that have been happening in school.
Enjoy the sunshine!
