Letter to Parents/Carers RE Bubble Closure

Dear Parents/Carers,

We have had to send several children home today following track and trace advice.

One of our Friday staff members tested positive for Covid and the children she worked with will now have to monitor their symptoms at home.

What happens to the children sent home?

The children will not be allowed to come back to school for 14 days as they are monitored to see if they present with Covid symptoms

No test is needed unless they present with Covid symptoms of a continuous cough, a high temperature or a change in smell or taste

Does the whole household have to be isolated now?

No. Siblings can continue coming to school and family members can continue going to work. It is only if the child presents with Covid symptoms that a test and isolation is needed.

Will the children who are sent home get their free lunch?

Yes. Co-op will provide a packed lunch until a Co-op voucher can be provided to support lunch in the isolation period. If you think you may be eligible for your son/daughter/ward to have a Free School Meal please collect a form from the school office.

Please let me assure you that we have a rigorous system here at Co-op Academy Portland. We do what matters most, which is keeping everybody as safe as possible, and that we monitor our practices at all times.

If you have any further concerns or questions, or if you need support in translating information, please contact the school office on 0151 652 5124

Thank you for your continued help and support.

Your sincerely,

Mrs Peace
Headteacher
