Pupils’ help make Literary Week a huge success!

  • Literary Week at our Academy
  • Every class read ‘Journey’ and then wrote their own story
  • Pupils’ were ‘caught reading’ in strange places, including inside a shopping trolley
  • Parents come in to the academy to read with their children
  • A wonderful week of enthusiasm, passion and great work

Our pupils’ took part in Literary Week last week, a week that encourages our pupils’ to be creative and enhance their love for reading and writing. And they didn’t disappoint!

Each class read the book ‘Journey’ – a story that, through pictures alone, tells the story of a young girl who uses a red crayon to escape a boring life and enter a world full of excitement and adventure.

Pupils’ then created their own wonderful stories using ‘Journey’ as their inspiration but stamping their own mark on their work with their personalities and character – which made for some amazing stories!

Each class worked really hard to create their own story and highlighted their brilliant literary skills, displaying their love for reading and writing. And it was very pleasing to see our pupils’ really enjoy the week. But don’t just take our word for it…

We also got to share some amazing photos of pupils’ who were ‘caught reading’ in some weird and wonderful places. Have you ever read a book in a shopping trolley? Under your bed? Whilst upside down? No? Well our pupils’ have!

During the week, we were very happy to see Louise from Wirral Library Services, who enthralled our pupils’ by reading stories. We were also delighted to welcome parents into our Academy and see them share the joy of reading with their children, before making their own book to take home!
